Michigan State Basketball Secures 2025 Big Ten Championship

Against all odds, the 2024-25 Michigan State basketball team has clinched the Big Ten championship. This remarkable feat was achieved by a squad featuring four new starters, three freshmen, and a coach who faced significant offseason criticism after a disappointing tournament exit.

Despite losing four starters from the previous year and the Big Ten’s expansion, including the addition of strong contenders, the Spartans defied expectations. Michigan’s loss to Maryland secured at least a share of the title for Michigan State, with the possibility of an outright victory.
